Germany is a developing country in terms of distribution with sustainable drinking water and we are at the start of a transformation towards a daily life without the mass use of „packaged water“. At the moment, consumers do not have an alternative to buy bottled water „to go“. In most cases, these are single-use plastic bottles – but even i fit were multi-use bottles, the solution would not be sustainable (production, transport, waste management). With our project, we want to improve this and create a true alternative:

• From 2023 on, we want to install water stations, that filter and sparkle tap water in the inner city areas in retail stores.
• Through these, consumers can refill their empty bottles for free, instead of buying new bottles.

For these water stations we are currently speaking to potential sponsors and retail stores. The sustainability impacts, such as saved tons of CO2₂ and saved single-use plastic bottles are measures by the software of Swiss company Droople. With this, we can specifically report to the participating sponsors and retailers of water stations the impact for their CSR reporting.

Out water stations "micro filtrate“ the tap water and make it hygienically 100% safe. They are maintained every six months (disinfection) and the filter is changed as required by regulation once a year.
